Deacon Ed McCormack facilitates the gathering as we unpack scripture in an atmosphere of fellowship and community. The ZOOM room opens at 7:15 a.m. and we get under way at 7:30 a.m. and conclude at 8:30 a.m.

The Knights of Columbus Council 11106 at St. John the Baptist parish is working in collaboration with St. Camillus Food Pantry for a fun-filled event for the whole family. The St. John the Jogger Virtual 5K and 1M run/walk for St. Camillus Food Pantry will take place between May 7, Mother’s Day weekend to June 19, Father’s Day 2022. Participants will receive a cool T-shirt with all proceeds to benefit St. Camillus Food Pantry. As virtual event, you can run/walk (or jog) at your own pace in order to accumulate miles. Last year, the St. Camillus Food Pantry provided nearly 18,000 meals to hungry families and needs financial support to continue its mission. St. John the Baptist Parish will participate in the Synod by hosting a Listening Session to reflect on our faith experience in the light of the Synod’s theme of Communion, Participation, and Mission. We will begin with prayer and allow time for sharing in small groups, and in the large group, as we listen to the Spirit together. Our parish session will be held on Sunday, February 20, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. beginning in the Church then in the School. Your Christmas parties may have already begun, but the Church is still keeping the season of Advent. One of the traditional themes of Advent is The Four Last Things: Death, Judgment, Hell, and Heaven. Sobering stuff! But rather like a sharp winter wind that makes you all the more ready to gather around the creche at Christmas. Immediately after the 9 a.m. Saturday Mass on December 18 the Eucharist will be exposed for adoration.
